100 Word Review - Batman: Arkham Asylum

A rare example of successfully integrated narrative and superb voice-acting, Arkham Asylum is a blend of gameplay styles that pits Batman's blunt tenacity against the Joker's months of planning and gift for murderous improv. Over the course of one brutal night, you play sleuth, pugilist and shadowy predator, armed with stunts, toys and a fluid and responsive control system that makes a little skill go a long way. Arkham itself is rich in detail, variety and monstrous atmosphere, and although most of the boss fights are tedious throwbacks, defeating the Riddler and Scarecrow at their own games is hugely satisfying.
